Community Ministry
Our time here has brought us together with many heroes of the faith here in Compton. It is some of our favorite privilidges to serve and connect these leaders to each other and empower them to help see their vision come to fruition.
We serve in city-wide leadership committees, boards and help facilitate city outreach and community events to help usher in God's Kingdom to Compton.
Discipleship
Most of what we do on a day-to-day basis involves discipleship. We follow a basic urban ministry tenet; "never do anything alone".
Mike facilitates several weekly one-on-one meetings and bible studies. Tonya's ministry speciality is discipleship. She has weekly bible studies with emerging women leaders, consults on various ministry programs and events and is a certified trainer assiting churches and leaders in understanding the cultural framework of poverty.
Pro Soccer Chaplain
Mike serves as the Chaplin to our local professional soccer team, Chivas USA. In this role, Mike has the privilege to provide spiritual mentoring for the players as well as help get them involved in personal outreach with our Compton United players.
Youth Development/Soccer for Social Change

Youth Development is the passion that brought us here to Compton and continues to bethe main issue we 'pound the table' about. Our first 10 years was at the Calvary Baptist SAY Yes! Center for Youth Development and now we can help faciliate youth development activities around the city.
One of our main focuses now is the Compton United Soccer Club, a US Soccer sanctioned club that captures the imagination of kids, youth and their families while letting us focus on life and spiritual development areas.This has been a phenomonal ministry opportunity God has directed us into.

Almost anything can be 'Leadership Development' if done intentionally. We try to remember this as we strive to help build the next generation of urban leadership. Our discipleship and ministry is focused on practically preparing for local leadership to replace us someday.
Church Ministry
It has been exciting as God has lead our church to plant additional churches here in Compton. We help serve on the initial team at City Church of Compton, the first church plant here in Compton.
This has been an incredible answer to pray that God will raise up a local multicultural and community focused church.
